One of the world's great marathons, winding 26.2 miles past Greenwich, Tower Bridge, the Embankment and the finish on The Mall. It is one of the highlights of London's calendar.

When it happens

The London Marathon is run in spring, usually in late April; in 2026 it is on 26 April.

How to see it

Watching is free. Great spots include Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf and the final stretch near Westminster.

Tips for visitors
