Westfield Stratford City is one of the largest urban shopping centres in Europe, a vast retail and leisure complex that forms the gateway to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London. Opened just before the 2012 Games, it gathers hundreds of shops, restaurants, a cinema and a casino under one roof.
Why visit
It is one-stop shopping on an enormous scale, from high-street staples to higher-end names, with enough dining and entertainment to fill a full day out of the weather. Its position at the heart of the regenerated Olympic Park gives it a buzz beyond the average mall.
What to see and do
Beyond the shops, there are extensive food courts and restaurants, a multiplex cinema and easy access to the Olympic Park, the ArcelorMittal Orbit and the aquatics centre. It is a useful base for exploring the new east London.
Visiting tips
Stratford and Stratford International stations sit right beside it, served by the Tube, Overground, DLR and Elizabeth line. It anchors the Stratford area. For more retail ideas, see our shopping guide.
