Ronnie Scott's is the most famous jazz club in Britain and one of the best known in the world, a legendary basement in the heart of Soho that has hosted the giants of jazz since 1959. Intimate, atmospheric and steeped in history, it remains a living temple of live music.

Why visit

Few venues offer such a direct line to musical history in such close quarters. The low-lit, candle-table room puts you near the stage where legends have played, for a night out that feels genuinely special.

What to see and do

Nightly programmes span jazz, soul, funk and more, with both household names and rising stars. You can book a table with dinner or come for the later, livelier sets; the upstairs bar hosts free and late-night sessions.

Visiting tips

Book ahead, especially for big names, and arrive early for the best seats. Leicester Square, Tottenham Court Road and Piccadilly Circus are all close. Make a night of it in Soho.
