Where is Holland Park and how to get there
Holland Park lies in west London between Notting Hill, Kensington and Shepherd’s Bush. It has its own Central line station, and the park is a short walk away.
The park and its gardens
The Holland Park itself is the draw, a wooded park with formal gardens, peacocks and the exquisite Kyoto Garden, a tranquil Japanese garden with a waterfall and koi pond. In summer, Opera Holland Park stages performances beneath a canopy among the ruins of a Jacobean house. The surrounding streets of grand white villas are among the most expensive in London.
Eating and drinking
The area is residential and upmarket, with a scattering of smart cafes and restaurants, particularly towards Holland Park Avenue and the edges of Notting Hill. It is a place for a calm coffee after a walk in the park.

The Kyoto Garden is a beautiful Japanese garden within Holland Park, created to mark the friendship between Britain and Japan, with a tiered waterfall, stone lanterns, koi carp and, often, peacocks wandering the paths. It is free to enter and one of the most peaceful spots in west London.
